Our Story
Kwame Daniel Mensah and Ama Serwaa Boateng met by chance and stayed by choice. These chapters are a fictional example of how a family can tell its story.

It was a rain-soaked evening at a book launch in Osu, Accra, in March 2015. Ama had come for the poetry; Kwame had come because a friend promised free jollof. They reached for the last signed copy at the same time — and agreed to share it, one chapter each, over coffee.

Weekend walks along Labadi Beach became long phone calls across time zones when Kwame moved to Lisbon for work. Ama visited that first autumn; they climbed every hill in Alfama and decided, on a tram somewhere near Graça, that distance was only a detail.

After a joyful knocking ceremony with both families in Kumasi and a wedding in Accra, they settled into a little home with a big kitchen. Sunday light soup, a growing shelf of shared books, and plans for many more chapters.
